Six Years of The Daily Haggis

Welcome to the 6th Anniversary to The Daily Haggis!
So I kinda made a big mistake while designing this new theme for the site. I was uploading some files to the new theme directory, and after I had finished transferring the entire new theme I realized that I was uploading in the current theme directory instead. I also had no current copy on my computer. I’ve just spent the past 8 hours finishing up the theme while it was live on the site in a somewhat broken form.
Since the dumbass mistake has been explained, I can get on to some of the finer points of the new design:
The Home Page – The home page of the site has undergone a complete overhaul. I’ve created little mini-thumbnails to display the last 6 articles, which will also scroll through if you select the category or navigate through the “Newer/Older” buttons underneath.
Single Article Page – wider columns with bigger fonts for easier reading. I’ve also added a little “meta” box at the top with some ways to share and rate the article.
Five Separate Dynamic Sidebars – Yes, FIVE. The home page houses four unique ones, and the inner page has it’s own structure. This allows me to move sidebar items around much easier and gives me more options on where to put new applets.
Numerous Web Design Tweaks – As well as closely tracking button use on the site I’ve also tried to make several readability tweaks to the site to make everything easier to get to and read.
There’s more I’m sure, but my brain is fried and it’s almost 5am. I hope you enjoy the new layout and please let me know what you think in the comments!
